The basis and plan of research on a group of steroids having seroflocculating activity, with the aim of developing a test for use in diagnosis of cancer,
are reviewed. Compounds classified into activity groups in earlier reports have been summarized, tentative activity-structure relationships are indicated, and a relative group-activity series has been derived from the screening. A discussion of the research is given.
