Lipid Content of the Intervertebral Disc

Total lipid content of the hyaline cartilage plate and nucleus pulposus of the human intervertebral disc were found to be the same by a variety of solvent procedures. Water and residue fractions varied. More lipid material was removed in the presence of 70% alcohol than by other solvent combinations.
