A Convenient System for Esterification of Fatty Acids

A compact apparatus for the methanolysis of lipids and esterification of fatty acids is described. The apparatus is designed to permit the complete preparation of small quantities of fatty esters, without sample transfer, for study by thin-layer or gas-liquid chromatography.
