A method is described for the preparation of bile concentrate that contains a high proportion of bilirubin diglucuronide. The method involves acetone fractionation, precipitation as cinchonidine adsorbate, reprecipitation as lead salt, and finally conversion to a sodium salt by means of cationic exchange resin. The properties of the final concentrate are given.
