An indirect caseinolytic assay for plasminogen utilizing acid-treated plasma or serum and optimal concentrations of streptokinase is described. A linear response to increasing plasma or serum concentrations was observed. An acid-treated plasma or serum sample is preferable to euglobulin. The method is simple, precise, and reproducible.
