Multi-Antisera Applicator for Use in Solid-Support Immunoelectrophoresis on Cellulose Acetate

Samuel T. Nerenberg 1, Carolyn Ganger 1, and Linda DeMarco 1

1 Department of Pathology, University of Illinois, Chicago, Ill. 60612.

We describe for the first time a multi-antisera applicator to be used on cellulose acetate membranes with immunoelectrophoresis on a solid support. The new procedure overcomes previous shortcomings of immunoelectrophoresis on cellulose acetate membranes and permits rapid analyses of 11 samples on single "standard"-size membranes with a substantial saving in antisera, cellulose acetate membranes, and time.
