Radioimmunoassay of Digoxin: An Intercomparison of Results with Three Methods

Sidney Gutcho 1, Henry McCarter 1, and Raul Rapun 1

1 Schwarz/Mann, Division of Becton, Dickinson and Co., Orangeburg, N.Y. 10962.

The radioimmunoassay of digoxin has been examined by comparing RIA data obtained by a clinical laboratory using the method of Smith et al. [New Engl. J. Med. 281, 1212 (1969)] with data obtained in a laboratory using commercially produced [3H]digoxin and [125I]digoxin kits. Correlations between clinical laboratory data and the results with each kit and correlation between kits are presented. The effects of digoxin-free sera and plasmas on standard curves have been examined.
