A sensitive, highly specific spectrophotometric method for quantitative determination of ethchlorvynol in biologic specimens is described. The procedure is based on conversion of ethchlorvynol to a product mixture consisting of two major components that strongly absorb ultraviolet light. Results can be obtained within 45 min of receipt of a specimen.
