J. A. Lazaroni Jr. 1, E. C. Maier 1, and Leonard R. Gorczyca 1

1 Clinical Laboratory of San Bernardino, San Bernardino, Calif.

The stability of lactic dehydrogenase was demonstrated at temperatures of 25° and 37°. The enzyme, in 80 per cent of the cases, was stable for at least eight days at room temperature and seven days at 37°. Bacterial contamination may have caused an alteration in one case.

For purposes of transportation, specimens can be handled safely without any special packaging or preservation.
