Optimal Conditions for the Enzymatic Determination of L-Lactic Acid

G. F. Olson

An additional end-point method for the enzymatic measurement of lactic acid has been described by G. Gercken in Hoppe-Seyler's Zeitschrift fur physiologische Chemie (Bd. 320 S. 180-186, 1960) : By employing an As2O3-NaOH buffer containing 2.5 x 10-3 M hydrazine, Gercken has largely eliminated changes in blank values and the backoxidation of reduced DPNH.
