1 Department of Obsterics and Gynecology, Ohio State Medical School, Columbus, O.

A method for the quantitative fractionation and estimation of urinary 17-oxosteroids is presented. The method utilizes paper chromatographic technics for separation of the steroids, which are quantitated with the Zimmerman reaction using m-dinitrobenzene. Details of the chromatographic procedure are given, with a comparison of this with other methods in use.
