Rapid Cellulose Acetate Electrophoresis

II. Qualitative and Quantitative Hemoglobin Fractionation

Raymond C. Bartlett 1

1 Department of Pathology, Hartford Hospital, Hartford 15, Conn.

A method is described for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of abnormal hemoglobins including hemoglobin A2. Quantitative values are comparable to those observed with the starch block technic. The analysis is completed within 2 hr. The apparatus is the same as that used for quantitative analysis of serum proteins.
