Chace, J.C. DiPierna, B.L. Mitchell,B. Sgroi, L.F. Hofman, and E.W. Naylor (Clin Chem 2001;47:116682).The sentence at the bottom of the first column on page 1167,which reads "Using statistics from the CDC that 3 880 894 infantswere born in the US in 1997, we can approximate that 465 infantswill be born per year with a metabolic disorder detectable byMS/MS", should read "Using statistics from the CDC that 3 880894 infants were born in the US in 1997, we can approximatethat 465 infants will be born per year with a metabolic disorderdetectable by an acylcarnitine profile obtained by MS/MS". Theauthors apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
