Correction

In the article entitled "Quantitative Analysis of Circulating Mitochondrial DNA in Plasma" by R.W.K. Chiu, L.Y.S. Chan, N.Y.L. Lam, N.B.Y. Tsui, E.K.O. Ng, T.H. Rainer, and Y.M.D. Lo ( Clin Chem 2003;49:719–26), the equation for estimating the weight of a cloned plasma molecule given on page 720 is incorrect. The equation should read: (5.472 bp x MWt)/A, not (5472 bp x MWt)/A.

The authors apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
