Bonifacio_Dy{at}doh.state.fl.us Bonifacio A. Dy, et al.

We are looking into the possibility of testing all specimens received by our facility, including the ones that do not meet the criteria for satisfactory testing. The purpose is to avoid missing the possible sickle cell babies considering the difficulty of getting a second specimen if the first one is rejected. Do you have any information regarding significant differences in results between "good" and "bad" specimens tested by IEF and/or HPLC?

Your input regarding this inquiry will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
