Dear Dr. Bruns

We studied the review by Pathak et al. (Circulating cell-free DNA in plasma/serum of lung cancer patients as a potential screening and prognostic tool. Clin Chem. 2006 Oct;52(10):1833-42.) with great interest, and we thank the authors for discussing our own work in their review (ref. 65, discussed on text page 4, in table 2 and in table 3). However, we would like to mention that we used GAPDH and not an immunoglobulin heavy chain sequence as the reference gene in our study (Circulating deoxyribonucleic Acid as prognostic marker in non-small-cell lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Gautschi et al. J Clin Oncol. 2004 Oct 15;22(20):4157-64.).

Sincerely,

Oliver Gautschi and Annemarie Ziegler
